Interpretación deportiva. Estudio sobre el mercado laboral en España

Abstract

El objetivo del presente trabajo es describir la situación actual del mercado español de la interpretación en el mundo del deporte, es decir, descubrir y analizar en qué situaciones tiene lugar este tipo de interpretación, cuáles son las modalidades y lenguas de trabajo más usuales, si existe formación específica sobre el tema, cuál es la opinión de los intérpretes sobre su papel y dar una visión general sobre el proceso contratación. Para ello, hemos llevado a cabo una investigación descriptiva y observacional acompañada de un estudio de campo entre intérpretes profesionales que desarrollan o han desarrollado su labor en el sector de los deportes. Los resultados muestran que la interpretación deportiva no se reconoce como un ámbito diferenciado en España y tampoco existen estudios específicos sobre el tema en nuestro país, por lo que esta investigación pretende ser un punto de apoyo para trabajos futuros que profundicen en este área de la interpretación.

The aim of this paper is to describe the current situation of the sports interpreting Spanish market.That is, discover and analyse which are the most common situations in which sports interpreting takes place, which are the most demanded modalities of interpretation and language combination, if there is specific training on sports interpreting, what opinion sports interpreter have of their profession and provide a general view of the hiring process. To that end, we have carried out a descriptive and observational study along with a field research among professional interpreters who work or worked in the sports field. Results show that in Spain sports interpreting is not recognised as an independent field of specialisation. There are not specific publications on sports interpreting and therefore this paper aims to be a foothold for future investigations which should go into detail about this interpretation area.
