Intervención comunitaria en el cantón de Challa, Bolivia, con la comunidad Ayllu Urinsaya Challa

Abstract

La comunidad aymara de los Ayllu Urinsaya habita en la cordillera oriental de los Andes bolivianos. Su población vive en una situación crónica de pobreza extrema, tienen serias dificultades para acceder a los sistemas sanitarios y educativos. Su organización económica se basa en el trueque, por lo que sus posibilidades de comercio en las ciudades son prácticamente nulas. La mayoría de sus habitantes no saben leer ni escribir y no hablan castellano (sólo aymara), lo que dificulta aún más su acceso a la educación. La Asociación para la Cooperación Internacional Mayma está diseñando un programa de intervención comunitaria que busca potenciar e impulsar el desarrollo de su comunidad. Para ello, se está llevando a cabo un proyecto de investigación basado en la Investigación Acción Participativa (IAP) y en los indicadores del Proyecto Esfera, con el fin de detectar las necesidades de esta comunidad.

The Aymara community of the Ayllu Urinsaya lives in the Eastern slopes of the Bolivian Andes. The inhabitants live in a situation of chronic extreme poverty and they have serious difficulties to get access to education and health system. Its economical system is based upon barter and therefore their chances of establishing commercial relations with the city are scarce. Most of the inhabitants are not able to read and write and do not speak Spanish (they only speak Aymara), which makes their access to education even more difficult. The Mayma Association for International Cooperation is designing a Community Intervention Program aimed at promoting and encouraging the development of the community. With this goal, an investigation project based upon Participative Investigation Action (PIA) and the Sphere Project indicators is being undertaken, in order to identify the needs of this community.
