La narrativa sobre el indígena en América Latina. Fases, entrecruzamientos, derivaciones

Abstract

A partir de los años cincuenta del siglo pasado, los narradores que apostaron por reivindicar la situación del indígena en sus ficciones se inclinaron por perspectivas menos esquemáticas y en las que primaba la reivindicación cultural y mítica, alejándose de este modo de la visión europeizada, propia de la narrativa indianista, y de la reivindicación política tan afín al indigenismo. En la década de los ochenta, y tras el declive del neoindigenismo, la narrativa sobre el indígena adoptará otros modos de expresión literaria como lo es el testimonio, acercándose de este modo a la literatura que sobre el indio y su situación se generó a partir de los primeros años de la Conquista.

From the fifties, in the last century, the narrators who backed the claim of the native’s situation in their fiction were in favour of less concise perspectives in which cultural and mythical claims prevailed, going away, thus, from the Europeanized view, characteristic of the Indian narrative, and of the political claim very close to Indigenism. In the eighties decade, and after the decline of the Neoindigenism, the narrative about the native will adopt other ways of literary expression such as the testimony, approaching, this way, the literature that was generated about the Indian and his situation from the first years of the Conquest.
