Resumen: | El turismo se configura como uno de los principales sectores económicos a nivel mundial, si bien, en los países en vías de desarrollo contribuye a mejorar la calidad de vida de los residentes, a través de la creación de empresas y empleos. El Mercado Fronterizo, se localiza en la frontera entre República Dominicana y Haití, en concreto, en el municipio dominicano de Dajabón. Así, entre los objetivos de este estudio está analizar la percepción que tienen los visitantes del Mercado Fronterizo sobre este recurso turístico. Por otro lado, se pretenden reforzar las investigaciones sobre turismo fronterizo en la literatura científica. La metodología ha consistido en una encuesta. Entre los resultados más destacados están el alto grado de excursionistas que visitan el mercado, así como la satisfacción alta que los visitantes obtienen de este recurso. También, destacamos que aún no es considerado como un recurso turístico para los visitantes, sino un punto comercial. | Tourism stands as one of the main economic sectors worldwide and in developing countries contributes to improving the quality of life for residents through the creation of businesses and jobs. The Border Market is located on the border between Dominican Republic and Haiti, specifically in the Dominican town of Dajabón. The purpose of this study are first to analyze the perception from the visitors of the Border Market towards this resource. And in the other hand, are intended to strengthen research on border tourism in the scientific literature. The methodology consisted of a survey. Among the most important results are the high degrees of hikers who visit the market and the high satisfaction that visitors get from this resource. Also, we note that it is not yet considered as a tourist resource for visitors, but a commercial point. |
