Los desafíos en la enseñanza del constitucionalismo y su historia: la interseccionalidad de raza y género

Abstract

En este trabajo se analiza cómo la imbricación de las ideas de “raza” y “género” influyó en la construcción del constitucionalismo. El papel que jugaron dichas ideas para infravalorar a otros grupos de gentes no occidentales ha sido importante en el desarrollo del Estado Constitucional. Aquella imbricación de exclusiones significó, además, el cuestionamiento de la humanidad de otros grupos lo cual les excluyó de las proclamas de derechos en el siglo XVIII. En este estudio se propone corregir este silencio mediante la recuperación de las huellas de esas otras subjetividades. Se busca completar la narrativa oficial del constitucionalismo y su historia para aplicarlos en la enseñanza.

In this study we analyze how the interlocking of the ideas of “race” and “gender” influenced the construction of Constitutionalism. The role these ideas played in undervaluing other groups of non-occidental persons has been of importance in the development of the Constitutional State. The interlocking of exclusions meant, moreover, that the humanity of other groups was questioned with which they were excluded of the declarations of rights of the 18th Century. This study aims to correct this silence by recuperating the marks of these other subjectivities. We intend to complement the official narrative of constitutionalism and its history and apply this in teaching.
