Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda: un relato sobre Hernán Cortés

Abstract

El estudio realiza un análisis comparativo entre el “Epílogo” de la novela Guatimozín, obra juvenil de Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda, la escritora cubana decimonónica, y el “Relato sobre Hernán Cortés”, redactado en sus últimos años. Pone de relieve detalladamente la evolución ideológica de la autora, que modifica de forma sustancial sus criterios sobre la persona y actitudes humanas del conquistador de México, a la vez que analiza los cambios narrativos y dramáticos que sobre el “Epílogo” la autora ha realizado en el “Relato”.

This learning consists of a comparative analysis between the “Epílogo” from Guatimozín, one of the books written by Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda, the XIXth century Cuban writer, during her youth, and the “Relato sobre Hernán Cortés”, drew up on the last period of her life. Likewise, it is carefully highlighted the ideological development of the mentioned author, who modifies her approach about the Mexican conquer personality and human attitudes in a substantial way, at the same time as the narrative and dramatic variations (which have been restructured from its original disposition in the “Epílogo”) are studied.
