dc.description.abstract | The architectural use of natural resources was an unsolved debt by modernity that has marked the contemporary architecture. The difficulty to measure and draw dynamics phenomenon like temperature, ventilation or lighting caused that building engineering doesn’t tackled them in all its complexity. However, at the beginning of the 30s, Le Corbusier began a research period which culminated with the integration in his architecture, two decades later, of the brise-soleil and the aerateur as climate control systems. The drawing was his main tool of analysis, design and calculation. He evolved from the measurement and drawing of light effects in Pompeii (1911) to the sophisticated Epure du soleil, which with one drawing resumes the complexity of the solar calculations developed years earlier. Similarly, his initials facilities schemes, with arrows and human analogies, turned into the Grille Climatique and the plans with amorphous air flows. In summary, Le Corbusier carried out many researches and prototypes that promoted the relation between architecture and environment. His drawings anticipated to the classics manuals of bioclimatism of Olgyay (1963) and Givonni (1969), as well as the current computer simulation software. Because of this reason, the works and methodologies developed by Le Corbusier, suppose an important material of applied research which need to be reviewed and interpreted. | es |
