La atención a la diversidad en el proceso didáctico universitario: estudio de casos

Abstract

La diversidad es una característica que está presente en todos los ámbitos sociales, y es un deber ineludible atenderla adecuadamente. El sistema educativo, especialmente, debe ser sensible a esta situación, adoptando las medidas necesarias para responder a este principio. Dentro de esta línea de trabajo, el objetivo principal de nuestra investigación es conocer las estrategias y acciones que en el contexto universitario se planifican para potenciar y facilitar los resultados de aprendizaje en el alumnado con necesidades de algún apoyo educativo, estableciendo una relación con estrategias y acciones utilizadas en otros tramos de la enseñanza. Como docentes, asumimos que el proceso didáctico sin atender la diversidad es un fracaso anunciado. Por ello, debemos identificar la atención, orientación y asesoramiento que el estudiante recibe, y en que medida interviene la institución universitaria, el docente y los canales de interacción que se establecen. Este trabajo de investigación se contextualiza en la Universidad de Alicante, desarrollando una metodología de estudio de casos, analizando la situación previa, la evolución del proceso de atención a la diversidad, el historial académico del alumnado, y los cambios más significativos que se producen en la transición al mundo universitario.

Diversity is a feature that is present in all social areas, and is an inescapable duty to respond adequately. The education system in particular must be sensitive to this situation, taking steps to address this principle. Within this line of work, the main objective of our research is to understand the strategies and actions which in the university context are planned to enhance and facilitate learning outcomes in students with education needs some support, linking strategies and shares used in other segments of education. As teachers, we assume that the learning process without addressing diversity is a predictable failure. Therefore, we must identify the care, guidance and advice which the student receives, and when University is involved, the teacher and interaction channels that are established. This research is contextualized in the University of Alicante, developing a case study methodology, analyzing the situation before the evolution of the process of attention to diversity, students' academic history and the most significant changes that occur in the transition to university.
