El fundamento de los derechos humanos: ¿dignidad o autonomía?

Abstract

La tesis principal del trabajo es que la dignidad puede considerarse como el fundamento de todos los derechos humanos, sin que ello suponga relegar a los otros dos grandes valores de la Ilustración: la igualdad y la autonomía. Esto es así porque el autor entiende que el núcleo normativo de la dignidad humana consiste, por un lado, en el derecho y la obligación que tiene cada uno de desarrollarse a sí mismo como persona y, por otro lado, en la obligación de contribuir al libre desarrollo de todos los otros.

The main thesis of the work is that dignity can be considered as the foundation of all human rights, without this implying relegating the other two great values of the Enlightenment: equality and autonomy. This is so because the author understands that the normative nucleus of human dignity consists, on the one hand, in the right and obligation that each one has to develop himself as a person and, on the other hand, in the obligation to contribute to the free development of all others.
