Fiqh y deporte: a propósito de la victoria de la selección argelina de fútbol en la Copa de África

Abstract

La victoria de la selección argelina de fútbol en la Copa de África supuso un hito en la historia reciente del país. Las consecuencias de esa victoria desplegaron sus efectos sobre la población más joven, especialmente. Sin embargo, hubo voces en contra de esta reacción social que había tomado el deporte del fútbol. Esas voces eran principalmente de académicos islámicos que proponían una reflexión profunda sobre el balompié. Y es que, el islam y la legislación islámica regulan el deporte, pero ¿bajo qué preceptos? ¿Qué elementos son permitidos en los deportes? ¿Cómo afecta esta regulación al fútbol? ¿Qué dice la escuela de pensamiento mālikī sobre esta cuestión? Este artículo se centrará en los presupuestos coránicos y de las escuelas de pensamiento jurídico clásico para realizar un análisis doble. Por un lado, se estudiará la licitud de la práctica del fútbol. Por otro lado, se analizará la licitud del consumo televisivo de este deporte.

The victory of the Algerian national soccer team in the Africa Cup of Nations was a milestone in the country’s recent history. The consequences of this victory had an impact on the younger population in particular. However, there were voices against this social reaction that the sport of soccer had incited. These voices were mainly from Islamic scholars who proposed a profound reflection on football. Islam and Islamic law regulate sports, but under what precepts? What elements make a given sport allowed in Islam? How does this regulation affect soccer? What does the mālikī school of thought have to say on this issue? This article will focus on the precepts of the Quran and classical legal schools of thought to pursue a twofold analysis. On the one hand, this paper will analyse the lawfulness of the practice of soccer in the light of Islamic teachings. On the other hand, this paper will study the lawfulness of TV-watching this sport as well, according to the Islamic principles.
