Los no combatientes y las reacciones ante los bombardeos aéreos republicanos

Abstract

La población no combatiente ha sido objetivo de guerra durante toda la historia. No obstante, con la introducción de las nuevas técnicas y métodos de guerra entre los siglos XIX y XX, su destrucción se estableció dentro de los planes para la aniquilación del enemigo. La guerra civil española (1936-1939) supuso un avance significativo en este ámbito, produciéndose ofensivas aéreas en ambas retaguardias. En el caso de la zona controlada por los sublevados, provocó una heterogeneidad de reacciones en los atacados, normalmente relacionadas con el miedo. En este sentido, se produjeron manifestaciones y la huida de personas fuera de las ciudades; pero también la disposición para poder observar los bombardeos como un espectáculo o el acostumbramiento de la población ante los ataques.

The non-combatant population has been a war target throughout history. However, with the introduction of new war techniques and methods between the 19th and 20th centuries, its destruction was established within the plans for the annihilation of the enemy. The Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) was a huge step in this field, happening aerial bombings in both rearguards. In the case of the zone controlled by the insurgents, this provoked heterogeneity of reactions among the bombed, usually related with fear. In this sense, it provoked demonstrations and the flight of people from the cities, but also the willingness to watch the bombings as a spectacle, or the population getting accustomed to these attacks.
