La Formación Profesional Acelerada como mecanismo de legitimización del régimen franquista (1955-1972)

Abstract

This study analyzes the Accelerated Vocational Training model in Spain during the Franco dictatorship (1955-1972), from a theoretical perspective. The chosen period, the dictatorship of Francisco Franco, is important because, during the years of economic development, it marked, on the one hand, the culmination of a time of legislative ambiguity, and, on the other, the beginning of a new stage of maximum intervention. State in terms of vocational training, initiated by the educational project defined by the Law of July 20 1955, on “Indus trial Vocational Training”. This reform served as the basis for the future structure of Spanish vocational train ing, in its version of accelerated vocational training, especially starting with the Decree of 1957, which created the Trade Union Office for Accelerated Vocational Training, until its incorporation into the general educational system in July 1972. It represents a novel contribution to historiography because there are few studies referring to this topic. The methodology used is historical, with an interpretive-descriptive approach. The objective is to analyze the institutionalization of Accelerated Vocational Training within the context of evelopmentalism and the ideological framework of the Franco regime, based on the study of primary and secondary sources. It is concluded that this type of training was a mechanism to seek legitimization of the Franco dictatorship.
