| The manuscript R. 14. 17 at Trinity College Library in Cambridge contains primarily texts by Joan Roís de Corella. It affords valuable information such as the names of the copyist and the name of a city, and two dates. This article systematizes, interprets and qualifies the biographical data relating to the copyist, Lluis Palau; it studies the relationship between the codex and Venice; and, finally, it corrects the dates of 1511 and 1577, which had been misidentified. It concludes that the cancionero was copied and compiled in Valencia between 1502 and 1504; that the copyist was a notary, making it difficult to identify him with Lluís Palau Macip, who was a merchant. The external part of the history of cancionero should be reconsidered, since the other sons of Lluís Palau would have been notaries. However none of them, except Lluís, could be found in Venice, where a poem seems to have been composed and transcribed.
