Abstract

Data from focal mechanisms are of great importance to understand the seismicity and seismotectonic of an area. Numerous authors have calculated focal mechanisms to study the seismotectonic of the Iberian-Maghrebian region. Nevertheless, actually there is not a complete updated catalog of this kind of information for this area. Indeed, these data are dispersed in a great number of papers, that frequently present data in a inhomogeneous and non-complete way. In this work we present an updated catalog of focal mechanisms for the Iberian-Maghrebian region, with more than 450 solutions, that presents an homogeneous notation, with a complete information of focal parameters and also a complete information of the faults cartografhy of and the possible correlation with main faults for this area. The focal mechanisms are presented cluster by regions and order chronologically.
