Nueva inscripción romana de Los Torrejones (Yecla, Murcia, Hispania Citerior) y consideraciones sobre su contexto arqueológico y territorial

Abstract

Durante las excavaciones del año 2015 en el paraje de Los Torrejones (Yecla, Murcia) se descubrió un fragmento de placa de mármol que contiene la mención de un personaje que fue IIuir y flamen de un municipio desconocido. En el contexto territorial del lugar de hallazgo, esa ciudad podría ser Egelasta, la cual sabemos que estuvo situada en la comarca de Montealegre del Castillo / Yecla. La esposa del magistrado, llamada Viria [- - -], podría estar vinculada a los Virii del área de Valentia, con lo que tendríamos aquí una nueva prueba de la colonización de las élites de Valentia y Edeta en el interior de Hispania.

In the course of the excavations of the year 2015 in the spot of Los Torrejones (Yecla, Murcia) it was found a fragment of plate of marble that contains the mention of a man that was IIuir and flamen of a unknown municipium. In the territorial context of the spot, that city could be Egelasta, which we know that was located in the region of Montealegre del Castillo / Yecla. The wife of the man, called Viria [- - -], it could be linked to the Virii from the area of Valentia; in this case, we would have here a new testimony to the colonization of the elites of Valentia and Edeta in the interior of Hispania.
