Para el caso: análisis de una construcción versátil en sintaxis del discurso

Abstract

En este trabajo analizamos el funcionamiento discursivo de la construcción española para el caso. Este elemento se muestra muy rentable en el desempeño de ciertas funciones en la macroestructura del discurso. Principalmente, es capaz de ofrecer un marco enunciativo de contenidos proposicionales. Pero también es capaz de expresar contenidos modales, como la actitud de indiferencia del hablante ante lo dicho, o de caracterizar algunas informaciones ofrecidas por el texto. Se tendrán en cuenta en el análisis las distintas variantes adoptadas por la construcción, ya que los varios usos de para el caso presentan diferentes grados de fijación. Los casos de mayor fijación muestran valores discursivos más específicos y, en algunos contextos, su comportamiento se acerca al de los operadores discursivos, categoría perteneciente a una gramática del texto.

In this paper, the discourse functions of the Spanish construction para el caso are analyzed. This is a very versatile element performing various functions in the discourse macro-structure. Mainly, it is able to activate an enunciative frame of propositional contents. However, it is also able to express modal meanings, such as the speaker’s indifference towards what is previously said, or to characterise some piece of information in the text. The analysis takes into account the different formal variants adopted by the construction, which presents different grades of fixation according to its various functions. The most fixed instances show more specific discourse functions and, in some cases, their behaviour is close to discourse operators, a category belonging to a text grammar.
