Historia de las relaciones entre Japón y China acerca del conflicto de las islas Senkaku/Diaoyu

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo explicar, brevemente, los antecedentes históricos del conflicto de las islas Senkaku/Diaoyu, y las relaciones entre China y Japón ante tal contencioso. Asimismo, se valorará cómo este conflicto quedó relegado a un segundo plano durante la Guerra Fría y, tras la desaparición de la URSS, de cómo las rivalidades y los resentimientos afloraron y, en definitiva, recrudecieron el presente conflicto.

The purpose of this work is to briefly explain the historical background of the Senkaku/Diaoyu islands conflict, and the relations between China and Japan regarding this dispute. Furthermore, it will be assessed how this conflict was relegated to the background during the Cold War and, after the disappearance of the USSR, how rivalries and resentments resurfaced and, ultimately, intensified the present conflict.
