| This paper analyzes the Early Imperial denarii coin hoard found near the villa of La Polonia (Castro del Río, Córdoba). It consists of 30 coins ranging from Augustus to Antoninus Pius. This work studies differentaspects, as its composition and context. In this regard, the finding is connected to the place where it was discovered and to the model of rural occupation. Furthermore, we suggest it belonged to a treasure that was buried during the second half of the 2nd century AD, and propose the causes for this burial, as may have been the presence of mauri in Baetica during the reign of Marcus Aurelius. |
