Abstract: 
Electrochemical, SEM, FTIR and XPS studies of adsorbed species formed during treatment of titanium surfaces with oxalic-oxalate solutions have been carried out. The FTIR and XPS experiments show that the use of this treatment prevents the growth of a thick oxide layer on the titanium surface.
