Abstract: 
Partiendo de las “Páginas cervantinas” publicadas por Jorge Eduardo Arellano en 2002 bajo el título Don Quijote no debe ni puede morir, el artículo trata de indagar en el quijotismo o cervantismo de Rubén Darío en relación con su visión de España, en el contexto ideológico del cambio de siglo; un período en el que los ideales quijotescos de los intelectuales del 98 nos permiten ahondar en las relaciones entre España y América Latina en los albores del siglo XX.
Commencing with “The pages of Cervantes” published by Jorge Eduardo Arellano in 2002 titled Don Quijote cannot and must not die, the article deals with Ruben Dario's “quijotism” or “cervantism” with regards to his view of Spain, in the ideological context of the change of century; a period in which the ideals related to Quijote of 98's intellectuals permit us to go further in the relationship between Spain and Latin America at the dawn of the Twentieth Century.
