UALeaks

Abstract

Water losses are probably one of the most relevant challenges utility managers have to face when operating water pressurized networks. In order to consider the hydraulic effect of leakage, a Matlab-based educational software (UAleaks) has been developed. UALeaks can be also used for students and practitioners in this engineering field. The objective of this work is to propose a Matlab-based educational software which helps students and practitioners to simulate homogeneously distributed water leakage in WDN and also the classroom use of this software and the key ideas are described. The software package results obtained are the new model (including leakage) and the calculation of the water and energy audits (depicted in numbers and also in graphs). This software has been programmed with a general public license and an open source distribution to promote the download, use and share of the code and is available in a public repository
