Turismo residencial, construcción y población en los municipios litorales alicantinos en el período 1999-2009

Abstract

El turisme residencial en la província d’Alacant ha experimentat un repunt des de finals del segle XX. El notable augment del parc d’habitatges és el principal causant de les transformacions en el model d’ocupació de l’espai litoral, així com un factor de canvi fonamental en la grandària i la composició de les comunitats locals en aquests municipis. En aquest treball s’aplica l’anàlisi cluster per a realitzar un estudi de correlacions entre l’evolució recent en la construcció d’habitatges i les modificacions en les característiques demogràfiques. L’ús d’un mètode de classificació jeràrquic permet agrupar els municipis atenent a les seves semblances i diferències, ajudant a reconèixer quins models de desenvolupament han tingut un mateix comportament.

El notable aumento del parque de viviendas es el principal causante de las transformaciones en el modelo de ocupación del espacio litoral, así como un factor de cambio fundamental en el tamaño y la composición de las comunidades locales en estos municipios. En este trabajo se aplica el análisis cluster para realizar un estudio de correlaciones entre la evolución reciente en la construcción de viviendas y las modificaciones en las características demográficas. El uso de un método de clasificación jerárquico permite agrupar los municipios atendiendo a sus semejanzas y diferencias, ayudando a reconocer que modelos de desarrollo han tenido un mismo comportamiento.

The residential tourism in the province of Alicante has experienced a growth since the last years of the 20th century. The remarkable increase of the park of houses is the main cause of the transformations in the urban model all along the littoral space, as well as a factor of fundamental change in the size and the components of the local communities in these municipalities. In this work is applied the cluster analysis in order to make a study of correlations between the recent evolution in the building of houses and the modifications in the demographical characteristics. The method of hierarchical classification used allow to group the municipalities attending to their similarities and differences, and also to recognise models of development with the same behaviour. Residential tourism in the province of Alicante has reached its top level since the end of the twentieth century. The considerable growth of residential areas is the main reason for the changes in the residential model applied next to the shore and also represents a key factor for the growth and composition of demographic structures in coastal municipalities. This study applies cluster analytics to establish correlations between the recent evolution of the construction of homes and changes in demographic aspects. The use of a hierarchical classification makes it possible to group municipalities by resemblance and differences in their properties, thus offering the possibility to show similar behaviour between different residential models.
