Overtourism urbano y cambios demográficos

Abstract

Los lugares centrales de muchas ciudades se caracterizan hoy por el excesivo peso que el turismo ha adquirido en ellos, con repercusiones variadas sobre la población allí residente. Se trata de espacios complejos en los que no sólo actúa el turismo, la identidad local o los intereses de sus habitantes, sino también espacios vivos con complejas transformaciones no siempre coincidentes: gentrificación, envejecimiento, inmigración extranjera... Este artículo, centrado esencialmente en el análisis demográfico de estos territorios, pretende caracterizarlos básicamente a través del estudio de la población de los centros históricos de algunas ciudades españolas, diferenciarlos entre sí y con el resto de la ciudad y destacar algunas modificaciones recientes en los mismos.

The central areas of many cities are characterized today by the excessive weight that tourism has acquired in them, with varied repercussions on the population residing there. These are complex spaces in which not only tourism, local identity or the interests of its inhabitants act, but also living spaces with complex transformations that are not always coincident: gentrification, aging, foreign immigration... This article, essentially focused on the demographic analysis of these territories aims to characterize them basically through the study of the population of the historical centers of some Spanish cities, in order to differentiate them from the rest of the city and other different urban areas while highlighting recent changes affecting them.
