Abstract: 
Este artículo trabaja la vertiente específica de una investigación más amplia en el tiempo y extensa en el espacio. El objetivo de la aportación pretende descubrir e identificar los elementos de conservación y/o transformación urbana y metropolitana en el territorio fluvial de la Ría y Abra de Bilbao. Desde la zona minera hasta el puerto, advertimos las mutaciones de la fisonomía del paisaje, en un ámbito regido por la desindustrialización y remodelaciones urbanísticas de valor añadido y sistemas generales: comunicaciones, transportes, áreas comerciales. Estos procesos inciden en las dimensiones de identidad e imaginarios simbólicos reflejados en la cultura-material: monumentos, mobiliario urbano, hitos característicos señalizadores, etc. La metodología recorre el marco de los estudios vinculados a la maritimidad en su perspectiva estético-artística y cultural, con enfoques problematizados por la arquitectura y la antropología bajo una mirada interdisciplinar, transversal e integradora. De fondo, la idea de patrimonio enraizado en contextos históricos de alteración física/simbólica de la ciudad. Parámetros necesarios para que, finalmente, los entornos citados puedan ser interpretados críticamente.
This scientific article works the specific aspect of a more extensive research in time and extensive in space. The purpose of the contribution is to discover and identify the elements of conservation and/or urban and metropolitan transformation in the fluvial territory of the Ría and Abra of Bilbao. From the mining area to the port, we notice the changes in the appearance of the landscape, in a sphere governed by de-industrialization and urban redevelopment of added value and general systems: communications, transport, commercial areas. These processes affect the identity dimensions and symbolic imaginaries reflected in the material culture: monuments, urban furniture, characteristic signaling milestones, etc. The methodology goes through the framework of studies linked to maritimity in its aesthetic-artistic and cultural perspective, structurally and with problematized approaches by architecture and anthropology under an interdisciplinary, transversal and integrating perspective. Which underlies the idea of heritage rooted in historical contexts of change and physical/symbolic alteration of the city. Parameters necessary so that, finally, the mentioned environments can be interpreted critically, as they are perceived at present.
