Thereafter, defensive projects designed to protect the buoyant salt trade multiplied in an area characterised by insecurity and depopulation throughout the Early Modern Period. Through an exhaustive examination of the map collections held in various archives, this communication analyses the cartographic representation of these infrastructures, from 16th century watchtowers to projects proposed in the first decade of the 19th century.
