Abstract: 
Este trabajo realiza un análisis de conjunto de la terminología ahl ad-daŷn y mudaŷŷan en su sentido y su uso en contexto. En una primera parte se repasan los significados de la raíz en distintos diccionarios y obras enciclopédicas. A continuación se sitúan cronológicamente -y sin pretensión de exhaustividad- dichos términos en su contexto, principalmente en fuentes históricas e historiográficas. De las exiguas menciones a los mudéjares, algunas ya conocidas y otras no, se extraen una serie de puntos sobre la ideología que reflejan estas voces y la imagen que transmiten de los mudéjares.
This paper focuses on a joint analisys of the terms ahl ad-daŷn and mudaŷŷan both in their actual sense and their use in context. Firstly, the root meanings are studied in different dictionaries and encyclopaedic works. Afterwards, the terms enumerated in chronological order, without trying to carry out a thorough research, are listed in context, mainly in historical and historiographic sources. After considering the scarce mentions of the Mudejars, some of them known and other unknown, a series of aspects about ideology are concluded that reflect these words and the image they project of the Mudejars.
