Abstract: Photopolymers are light sensitive materials with adequate characteristics for application as holographic recording media in new devices as optical elements and holographic memories. A specific set of parameters are required from the photopolymers: good energetic sensitivity to save energy during the recording process, an adequate spectral sensitivity, a higher resolution to let the necessary fidelity in the stored information reproduction, a better environmental compatibility including low toxicity, easy making management and good recycling properties. We present the main research lines in this area and the last results obtained with the new photopolymeric materials that we are developing.
