El triunfo de la historiografía liberal moderada en la mitad del siglo XIX

Abstract

El objeto de estudio del presente trabajo es el análisis de la historiografía liberal moderada española en el siglo XIX. A partir de aportaciones recientes de destacados historiadores (Pérez Garzón, Suárez Cortina, Fox, entre otros), analizaremos la obra de liberales moderados españoles tales como Modesto Lafuente y el krausista Fernando de Castro, entre otros, pues se convirtieron en los representantes de la historiografía liberal moderada española en el siglo XIX. Pretendemos, en primer lugar, aproximarnos a los intereses sociales, políticos y económicos que tuvieron las nuevas clases dominantes para impulsar una determinada producción historiográfica en el contexto de la creación del Estado-nación liberal español. Entonces, analizaremos cuáles fueron esos discursos predominantes en la historiografía de aquel tiempo. Comprobaremos finalmente nuestra hipótesis, que supone entender que las nuevas élites necesitaron promocionar determinados discursos que proyectaban un Estado-nación centralizado y monárquico en una época en la que se enfrentaban diferentes modelos del mismo.

The object of study of the present paper is the analysis of the Spanish liberal moderated historiography in the 19th Century. From recent contributions of outstanding historians (Pérez Garzón, Suárez Cortina, Fox, among others), we will analyze the work of the Spanish liberal moderated such as Modesto Lafuente and the krausist Fernando de Castro, among others, since they became the representatives of the Spanish liberal moderated historiography in the 19th Century. We expect, at first, to approximate to the social, political and economic interests that the new dominant classes had to propel a certain historiographic production in the context of the creation of the Spanish liberal State-nation. Then, we will analyze which were those predominant discourses in the historiography of that time. Finally, we will verify our hypothesis, which supposes to understand that the new elites needed to promote determinate discourses that projected a centralized and monarchic State-nation in a time there were confronting different models of it.
