Preparación para la Carrera Profesional de trabajadores con titulación universitaria activos laboralmente

Abstract

La preparación para la carrera profesional podemos entenderla como el conocimiento que el sujeto tiene del mundo laboral, las estrategias o procedimientos de búsqueda de empleo, asociadas a su empleabilidad y a las condiciones y compromiso de desempeño de su profesión. El objetivo del estudio fue identificar qué aspectos de la preparación favorecieron la transición al mundo laboral en personas con titulación universitaria, teniendo en cuenta el género y el grupo profesional de pertenencia. Para ello se aplicó el cuestionario de Preparación para la Carrera Profesional a una muestra que estuvo compuesta por 375 trabajadores con estudios universitarios (61,6% mujeres y 38,4% hombres) con un rango de edad entre los 22 y los 62 años y con una edad media de 33,97 años (Sd= 9,8). Los resultados señalaron que los aspectos que más influyeron en estas personas están relacionados con su percepción de seguridad, capacitación, motivación y persistencia hacia el puesto trabajo que pretendían conseguir. Por otra parte, aparecen como relevantes en su trayectoria el compromiso y seguridad en sí mismo a la vez que el conocimiento y la motivación hacia el puesto de trabajo desempeñado. Solo se encontraron diferencias en relación al género en el factor de conocimientos de recursos para el empleo y en la puntuación total de Preparación para la Carrera Profesional a favor de los hombres. Teniendo en cuenta los grupos profesionales solo aparecieron diferencias significativas en compromiso y seguridad en sí mismo y conocimiento y motivación hacia el puesto de trabajo entre los grupos sociojurídico y el sanitario y el psicoeducativo a favor de estos últimos. El estudio destaca la importancia de los aspectos intrínsecos al individuo en la Preparación para la Carrera Profesional así mismo proporciona información del comportamiento de este constructo teniendo en cuenta el género y el grupo profesional.

Preparation for the career can be understood as knowledge that the subject has to the world of work, strategies or job search procedures related to their employability and engagement conditions and performance of their profession. The study highlights the importance of intrinsic aspects to the individual in preparing for careers so it provides information on the behavior of this construct considering gender and professional group.
