Identidad y alteridad: Kateb Yacine (Kātib Yāsīn) y la reivindicación de las lenguas argelinas en su teatro

Abstract

El teatro de Kateb Yacine es, por excelencia, el medio que más contribuyó a devolverle a la lengua argelina su importancia. El carácter revolucionario de sus textos dramatúrgicos obligó a los argelinos a tomar conciencia y luchar por su identidad. El vehículo usado en exclusiva en la mayoría de sus textos teatrales es el árabe dialectal por ser el más usado por la población argelina. Se expone la biografía del autor, analizando obras teatrales significativas en su evolución desde el uso del francés al árabe argelino.

Kateb Yacine's theatre is, par excellence, the medium that more contributed to give back to the Algerian language its importance. The revolutionary character of his dramaturgical texts forced the Algerians to raise awareness and fight for their identity. The vehicle used exclusively in most of his drama texts is the Arabic dialect as the most used by the Algerian people. The biography of the author is exposed, analyzing some significant drama work of its evolution from the use of the French to the Algerian Arabic.
