El bombardeo aéreo como atributo de la guerra total: la población de la retaguardia sublevada como objetivo de guerra del gobierno republicano

Abstract

El estallido de la Gran Guerra supuso la implicación de toda la población nacional en el conflicto bélico, lo que derivó en su transformación como objetivo militar permanente para el enemigo. Con el comienzo de la Guerra Civil española este proceso se mantiene pero con un aumento exponencial de las víctimas, siendo una de sus causas la mejora de los bombardeos estratégicos. En este caso, se han querido investigar las acciones aéreas que llevaron a cabo los republicanos contra la retaguardia sublevada, analizando los planos y la forma en que se realizaron. De este modo, se podrá averiguar las razones por las que la Aviación republicana bombardeó ciudades alejadas del frente y las consecuencias que estos actos produjeron.

The outbreak of the Great War led to the involvement of whole nations in the conflict, resulting in the populations becoming permanent military objectives for the protagonists. With the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War this process was maintained but with huge increases in the number of victims , one of the reasons being the im-provements in strategic bombings. In this case, we aim to investigate the air strikes car-ried out by the republicans against the enemy rearguard, analysing their plans and the way they were carried out. This way, we will discover why the Republican Aviation bombed cities behind the front line and the consequences arising from those actions.
