La mujer: escenas y tipos costumbristas en el Semanario Pintoresco Español

Abstract

Los artículos de costumbres que tienen como finalidad la presentación de la mujer en el Semanario Pintoresco Español son fuente importante para la reconstrucción de la imagen de la mujer del siglo XIX, de ahí que centremos nuestra atención en el análisis de un tipo femenino, la literata, presente en el Semanario y cuya pintura, años más tarde, en manos de otros autores, se proyecta en las colecciones costumbristas que a lo largo del siglo XIX se publican.

The articles on daily life which illustrate traditional women in the Semanario Pintoresco Español are an important resource from which to reconstruct the image of women in the 19th century. This article focuses on one type of woman, the female writer, present in the Semanario and portrayed over subsequent years in the writings of other authors throughout the 19th century.
