Consideraciones acerca de la presencia de Cistus heterophyllus Desf. en la Península Ibérica

Abstract

Se aportan datos relativos a la distribución de Cistus heterophyllus Desf. en la Península Ibérica, citándose por primera vez dicho taxon de la provincia de Valencia. Nuestro descubrimiento hace sospechar que los datos acerca de la presencia de C. incanus L. y C. villosus L. en las áreas orientales de dicho territorio pueden ser atribuidos a C. heterophyllus Desf. Además, se discute la posición taxonómica de C. carthaginensis Pau, para el que se propone la combinación C. heterophyllus Desf. subsp. carthaginensis (Pau) M. B. Crespo &. G. Mateo, comb. & stat. nov., que comprendería las poblaciones ibéricas de la especie.

Some data related to the chorological distribution of Cistus heterophyllus Desf. in the Iberian Peninsula are reponed. This taxon is recorded for the first time in the province of Valencia (E. of Spain), and the hypotesis that ancient reports referred to C. incanus L. and C. villosus L. in the eastern part of this territory would concern C. heterophyllus Desf. is advanced. Also, the taxonomic position of C. carthaginensis Pau is discussed and the status of C. heterophyllus Desf. subsp. carthaginensis (Pau) M. B. Crespo & G. Mateo, comb. & stat. nov., is proposed to comprise the Spanish populations of this species.
