| Jose Maria Arguedas is one of the most singular writers of Peruvian narrative and, by extension, of Latin-America. The originality of his writings is born of a series of aspects that we will try to analyze in these pages and that would be the blending of life and literature, the incorporation of anthropology and ethnology in his fiction and the search for a singular language. All these combinations contribute to the creation of novels and statements in which the author starts from the point of a marked duality between Quechua and Spanish in his first writings later to plead for cultural miscegenation. In his last novels, on the other hand, he will reflect on the rapid process of acculturation that according to the author his country was suffering from. |
