| Abstract: | Presentamos el estudio de cinco sepulturas adscritas a época altomedieval halladas en Navarra. Una de ellas de la necrópolis visigoda de Gomacin (Puente la Reina) (s. VII). Dos de la maqbara de la Plaza del Castillo (Pamplona) (s. VIII). De la maqbara de la Calle de Herrerías (Tudela) (ss. IX-XI), proceden las dos sepulturas restantes. Los esqueletos corresponden con mujeres adultas fallecidas durante la gestación. La edad fetal corresponde en cuatro de ellos con fetos a término, mientras que el quinto se identifica como un feto inmaduro de 22-23 semanas de gestacionales. Además del embarazo las mujeres presentan alteraciones patológicas diversas, aunque ninguna justificaría el fallecimiento.
In this paper, the study of five tombs found in Navarre and dated in the Early Middle Age is presented. One of the tombs is found in the Visigothic Necropolis of Gomacin (Puente la Reina) (7th cent. AD), two in the maqbara of La Plaza del Castillo (Pamplona) (8th cent. AD) and the two remaining in the maqbara of La Calle de Herrerías (Tudela) (9th –11th cents. AD). The skeletons correspond to adult women dead while pregnant. The fetal age corresponds in four cases to fetuses at term, while the fifth one is identified as an immature fetus of 22-23 weeks of gestation. Besides being pregnant, the women show diverse pathological alterations, although none would justify their deaths. |
